Bought some gold dollars (1855 and 1855 C!)

The add in craigslist listed 7 gold dollar pieces (~1/20 oz) between the years of 1851 and 1861 for $1800. I did some research and found out that the type II dollars, 1854 and 1855, are pretty rare. Some are very rare, like the 1855 D and 1855 C. The seller is a high school kid living in a huge mansion in Beverly Hills. After haggling with him for a while, I bought 5 of the dollars for $1200. Two of them were 1855, one 1855 C. The problem is that the C is damaged. Someone inscribed their initials next to the big 1. I dont usually buy old numismatic coins, so after the purchase I felt like maybe I overpaid. So I stopped by my dealer to get them upraised. He told was very surprised to see the 1855 C, but disappointed that it was damaged. He offered me $500 for it! The other ones he said are between $100 and $300.
Reading up a bit on the 1855 C, it seems like they are very scarce.
Do you think I should get them graded? It seems like the only place that will grade damaged coins in ANACS.

Grading might be worthwhile, but I wouldn't bother with the damaged one. I'd probably be happy with $500 for it. With the others, if I were to get them graded, I would only bother with PCGS (preferably) or maybe NGC.
